Client: UCSD Health Sciences Compliance Programs

Task: I was approached by UCSD Health Sciences Compliance Programs to design promotional posters and banners for the program, adhering to UCSD brand guidelines. I collaborated with the creative director of UCSD Publications to achieve the optimal design.

Product: Working on this project wasn’t easy, do to a conservative and very corporate style. There was a particular color scheme to be used and UCSD brand guidelines. But nevertheless it had to be friendly and inviting, which was achieved by using smiling people’s faces and modern simplistic design.

Client: HP Inc.

Task: One of the sponsored programs at HP Inc. was RPS Pilot (Remotely Piloted Solutions). The request was to design 2011 and 2012 calendars, using NASA space imagery. The calendars were localized in several foreign languages.

Product: Since I had a library of beautiful NASA space imagery, I had to come up with simple and elegant design which would go alone with the space imagery, and will not distract from the mane images.

Client: Valley View Casino 

Task: Valley View Casino’s “Go for the Gold” Tournament promotional materials.

Product: Items implemented: banners, table tent display cards, monthly newsletters, web advertisements, t-shirts, postcards, coasters, drinking cups.

Client: Compass Learning

Task: While working at Compass Learning, an educational K-12 software company, as a Sr. Graphic Designer, I was responsible for designing and producing a wide range of teaching guides, software packaging, CD covers, and online animated activities.

Product: Here are materials for “Learning with Literature” course guide. I used three interwoven leaves to depict the process of learning three subjects: science, history, and math. The materials include: Book cover design and desktop publishing layout, software box wrapper, CD imprint and jewel box design.

Client: Westview High School Choral Department

Task: I am a volunteer at Westview High School Choral department as a booster parent. One of my responsibilities was to design advertising collateral materials for upcoming choir shows.

Product: The items I have designed included posters, banners, programs and candy gram wrappers.

Client: Compass Learning

Task: While working at Compass Learning, an educational K-12 software company, as a Sr. Graphic Designer, I was responsible for designing and producing a wide range of teaching guides, software packaging, CD covers, and online animated activities.

Product: Here are materials for “Secondary Solutions” course guides. In this design I have used original illustrations, done in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and graphic iconography elements using negative space. Each course guide was done in a different color scheme to differentiate between the subjects of science, English and math. The materials include: Book cover design and desktop publishing layout, software box wrapper, CD imprint and jewel box design.

Client: Shanna Timms and Irina Chalkevitch Dance Studio

Task: One of my freelance clients (Shanna Timms and Irina Chalkevitch Dance Studio) approached me to design promotional flyers and posters for upcoming classes and workshops.

Product: I have used elegant typography, dance related imagery and at the same time I had to make it legible and simple for readers, showing all of the available class and workshops options.

Task: Learning Zone is an Augmented Printing Experience created for ages 4-7. Using unique assets owned by HP, the concept provides a simple, fun, educational experience that kids and parents can enjoy.

Product: Items created: Logo, iconography, characters, printable worksheet activities.

Software: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop

Client: UCSD, Chicano/a-Latino Arts and Humanities Minor

Task: I was approached by UCSD’s Chicano/a-Latino Arts and Humanities Minor Program to design a brochure advertising the history of the minor. I collaborated with the creative director of UCSD Publications to achieve an optimal design.

Product: My idea was to come up with a culturally appropriate look by using nostalgic color scheme with Chicano (Native American) motives, and at the same time incorporate up-bit and enthusiastic human face photos, to imply the young mood of the minor.

Client: Valley View Casino 

Task: I was tasked to design the company wide “Recycle Make a Difference” campaign. The company’s goal was to improve on environmentally friendly experiences for the customers and the employees.  

Product: Items included: logo design, table tent display cards, posters, banners, and web banners.
